DuPage County was formed in 1839 out of Cook County. It is named after the DuPage River, which flows through it. Just 20 miles west of Chicago, DuPage County is one of the healthiest and greenest counties in Illinois. DuPage is also one of the nation’s wealthiest counties and is rich in many types of commerce and is second only to Cook County in tourism revenue.
The county is composed of numerous 35 cities including; Addison, Wheaton, Lombard, Clarendon Hills, Addison, Westmont, Itasca, Downers Grove, Warrenville, and Willowbrook among others.
