The On Trend Color For 2022 Is…

With the end of the year approaching, that brings on new year predictions and trends. Along with it, paint companies and design firms start dropping their own “color of the year” forecast intended to influence the world of fashion, home decor, interior design and more for the upcoming year. If you’ve been noticing more green around you in stores lately, it’s not a coincidence! 2022’s hottest new color is…..hues of emerald green! 

Karen Grey-Plaisted of Design Solutions stated that the dark green hues of green bring a sense of comfort for many reasons. One being that “the color green is the literal embodiment of nature and movement”. It makes sense that green is so calming to us, for it reminds us of the great outdoors and relaxes us by nature. Emerald green is also timeless – a color that has been around for centuries. Often representing royalty with it’s jewel toned hue.

Emerald also mixes well with earthy tones such as wood, bone, cream or tan. Keep those colors in mind when decorating with your emerald furniture or decor for the earth tones to further accentuate the green and make your space feel calm and in a natural state.

If a deep emerald isn’t your vibe, try another green hue like a light cool mint in your bedroom or bathroom. This form of green is known to promote a serene feeling for it promotes a spa-like ambiance and encourages relaxation. And we could all use some of that!
